The Ariso Methodology

Good management isn’t a personality trait.

It’s a set of beliefs and habits that anyone can learn. The Ariso Methodology, Ariso’s framework for better management, puts them in three layers — and everything Ari does for you, your team and your organization is built on them.

Motivated people, practicing TRAM every day, build CLEAR organizations. And CLEAR organizations keep people motivated.

01 · Why

Motivated people.

People do their best work when that work feeds four intrinsic motivators.

Mastery

Getting better at what matters.

Autonomy

Having real choices, and being trusted to deliver.

Belonging

Being connected, included and recognized.

Purpose

Seeing how your work connects to something bigger.

Two more ideas run through all four

Balance

Keeps motivation going. Without it, mastery turns into burnout and purpose turns into pressure.

Growth mindset

Multiplies it. Setbacks become feedback, and the bar for what “good” looks like keeps rising.

Motivated people build stronger teams. That is why the methodology starts here, and not with process.

How Ari uses it

  • When you coach with Ari, the first question is which motivator is running low for you, and how to restore it.
  • Your weekly reflection is framed around what drives you.
  • When managers prepare for a 1:1, Ari helps them think about what motivates each person.
02 · How

TRAM, every day.

Management happens in small moments every day, not in a quarterly offsite. TRAM is the daily practice.

Track

Capture what is happening: meetings, decisions, commitments, blockers and changes.

In Ari: Meetings are captured and summarized, and follow-ups are created from what people commit to.

Report

Make sure the right people know what happened, what changed and what needs attention.

In Ari: Team Status shares progress with your team, and your reflections summarize your week.

Align

Keep work connected to goals, and keep people connected to each other.

In Ari: Goals & Priorities show what your work ladders up to.

Measure

Check whether the work worked, then reflect and improve.

In Ari: Reflections show how your week went and what to adjust.

It runs as a loop.

Morning

Align. Pick the few things that matter most, prepare for your meetings, and spot risks early.

During the day

Track. Capture notes, decisions and commitments as they happen.

End of day

Report and Measure. Look at what moved, what slipped, and who needs an update.

Weekly

Improve. Look back at patterns, what stalled, and where priorities drifted.

The hardest part of work is often not the work itself. It is the work around the work. Ari does most of that for you, so the practice stays light.

03 · What

CLEAR organizations.

CLEAR describes what a well-run organization looks like. There are five principles.

Clarity

Direction with conviction and context. Communication that is direct and responsive, with no surprises.

Leverage

Work smart. Delegate to people, partners and AI, and be ready when timing breaks your way.

Evolution

Learn from setbacks, change what the evidence says to change, and don’t repeat the same mistake.

Alignment

Servant leadership, radical candor and empathetic accountability, with mutual respect for each other’s roles and boundaries.

Rigor

Do the right things and the hard things consistently, with the resilience to recover from setbacks and the endurance to stay in the game.

The principles balance each other.

Each principle goes wrong when it is pushed without its counterweight. Picture the five letters on a circle, in two tensions and a base.

keep goingkeep learninghold coursechange courseCClarityEEvolutionwork smartwork hardLLeverageRRigortrust holds bothAAlignment
Clarity pulls against Evolution, and Rigor against Leverage. The two tensions cross, and Alignment holds them from the base. The dotted line is a quieter pull, between Rigor and Evolution. Read clockwise from C to spell CLEAR.

Clarity ↔ Evolution

Hold course versus change course

Clarity without Evolution
Stubbornness. A confident plan that the facts have left behind.
Evolution without Clarity
Drift. A new direction every week.

In balance, you decide with conviction, say what would change your mind, and watch for it.

Rigor ↔ Leverage

Work hard versus work smart

Rigor without Leverage
Heroics and burnout.
Leverage without Rigor
Dropped handoffs. Work delegated, then never followed through.

In balance, consistent effort goes to the highest-leverage work, with follow-through on what gets handed off.

Alignment, at the base

The trust that holds both

Alignment is the base that holds both tensions.

Clarity ↔ Evolution, without trust
Politics.
Rigor ↔ Leverage, without trust
Dumping work on people, or micromanaging them.

Most problems in an organization aren’t a missing principle. They are one side of a pair pushed too far.

CLEAR is not a score on people

CLEAR describes how an organization works, not how good a person is. When Ari notices something about a team or an organization, it tells you what the evidence points to and suggests a conversation. It never gives a verdict about a person.

Where CLEAR shows up today

Ari’s organization features look at the same things. Org Pulse scores strategic clarity, priority alignment, follow-through, retro effectiveness and growth mindset, among others. To try that kind of read on your own, see the org health field guide.

04 · The flywheel

Each step of TRAM builds a principle of CLEAR.

Practice TRAM with Ari and you are practicing every letter of CLEAR.

TrackRigorCommitments and decisions are captured, so nothing is dropped.
ReportClarityThe right people hear what changed, early.

A CLEAR organization keeps people motivated.

That closes the loop back to Why.

ClarityPurpose, because people can see what their work is for.
LeverageAutonomy and Mastery, because trust is handed over and people work where they are strongest.
EvolutionMastery and growth mindset, because the team keeps getting better.
AlignmentBelonging, because people are respected and heard.
Rigor, practiced with BalanceKeeps it sustainable, because consistency without burnout lasts.

The same three layers apply at every level.

Already on a framework?

If your organization runs EOS, Scaling Up or OKRs

Many organizations already run a named operating system. An admin can set it as the organization’s operating framework, and Ari then uses that framework’s vocabulary, so Strategic Initiatives become Rocks under EOS. Recurring team meetings are summarized against that framework’s agenda.

The methodology underneath doesn’t change. EOS, Scaling Up and OKRs are ways of running the How at the organization level. The Why and the What stay the same.

A note on the name

Not the CLEAR coaching model

Organizations can pick a coaching model for 1:1 meetings, and one of the options is also called CLEAR (Hawkins): Contract, Listen, Explore, Action, Review. That is a method for running a single coaching conversation.

Ariso’s CLEAR is a mindset about how the whole organization works. The two work together: a coaching conversation can follow any model while being about a CLEAR principle, such as a team whose rigor is running without enough leverage.
