Questions

About the Big Five test

Where do the statements come from?
They’re the International Personality Item Pool’s public-domain 50-item Big-Five markers (Goldberg, 1992), widely used in personality research, scored with their published key.
What’s a good score?
There isn’t one. Each score comes from your own answers, not a comparison with other people, and every trait is useful at both ends: a Practical teammate balances a Curious one.
Why is Neuroticism in there?
It’s the research name for how strongly stress and worry affect you, the reverse of emotional stability. Ari never names a high score in a word, on your result or your card.
How is it different from 16 types?
16 types sorts you into one of sixteen combinations. The Big Five scores each trait on a range, which is why researchers prefer it. Plenty of people take both.
